Nanjing University, abbreviated as NTU, is an institution of higher learning with a long history. The modern history of the school began in 1902 when Sanjiang Normal School was organized. After many changes, in 1949, "National Central University" was renamed "National Nanjing University", and in the following year, it was called "Nanjing University", which is still used today.
